Nothing better than a rainy to dig into The Last Romantics by Tara Conklin. At almost 500 pages, I found it hard to put down and finished it in 3 days. The story spans the life of writer and poet Fiona Skinner, and her siblings. It’s a story of the power of family love to overcome the heartbreaks and failures of life.
Some of my favorite lines from the book provide a satisfying ending. “We believe in love because we want to believe in it. Because really what else is there, amid all our glorious follies and urges and weaknesses and stumbles? The magic the hope the gorgeous idea of it.”
